Where does this list come from?
Directly from the SEC's own public company_tickers_exchange.json file, refreshed on a schedule. It's the same identity list SEC EDGAR itself publishes — ticker, company name, listing exchange and CIK (Central Index Key).
Why no prices or fundamentals?
fin·calc doesn't have a licensed live market-data feed connected yet (see the Invest overview), so this directory sticks to identity data that's genuinely public and free: who's listed, where, and a direct link to their own SEC filings. Use "Add to watchlist" to keep track of names you want to research further yourself.
What's a CIK?
The SEC's Central Index Key — a unique number it assigns to every filer. It's what SEC EDGAR uses to group all of a company's filings in one place, and it's what this directory links to.
